Transfer Central
Probably one of the most important options you need to learn to use if you
want to have success in this game.
There are three options in here, so we need to use three sub-sections too.
Transfer Market
At this screen you will see the current players available for transfer in
your league. Sometimes it will be populated, sometimes it will be empty.
To navigate through leagues you need to use the "Search" option, which can
be accessed by pressing the black button.
Buy/Loan A Player
Once you are in the "Search" option, you can be as specific as you want or
you can just provide one or two fields to start the search. The fields
on the search option are:
- League
(If you want to see all the players in a specific league, just assign
the league you want to look, and leave all the other fields blank)
- Team
(Leave it as any if you want to see all the players, no matter
which team they are from)
- Min. Overall
(The player you are searching can't be lower than this)
- Max. Overall
(The player you are searching can't be higher than this)
- Position
(You can specify a specific position or not)
- Role
(Which role in the position you specified position above)
- Status
- Available for transfer
(The team of the player is trying to get rid of him)
- Available for Loan
(You can buy this player only until the end of season, then he will
go back to his team)
- Free agent
(Currently not part of a team, he's negotiating by himself)
- Offer already made
(Player that already have an offer from you)
- Any
After you filled those fields, there can happen two things. One, you have
luck and the system found what you are looking. Or two, the search didn't
find anything, so you can either leave the transfer market or try again,
probably you will just need to change a few options to find what you are
looking for.
If you find a player that seems to be what you need, place the cursor on
him and press A. You will then be at the "Contract conditions" screen,
which is basically the negotiation sheet.
The fields here are:
- Status
(Can be Buy or Loan)
- Transfer fee
- Player Salary per game
- Contract length
- # of bids
- Per Clean Sheet / Per Goal
Note that if a player is listed for buy, probably his team is not
interested on a loan, so don't waste your bids, but if you think that you
might be lucky enough, then go ahead!
Same goes for Loan listed players. Never tried myself, but you can try to
buy players listed for loan, I think it depends on how good or bad your
offer is.
The transfer fee is already set when you try to make an offer for a player,
so don't try to be smart and offer a fee lower than the one that is already
made, because you will likely don't get any luck with that. It's always
a good idea to offer a fee a little higher than the fee the team is
asking for the player.
The salary per game is also already set. Same rule, don't try to offer a
lower salary per game, instead you should offer a few more points.
The contract length is the amount of years that the player will sign if he
accepts the offer. There's not a specific amount of years for any player,
so you may need to negotiate a few times this. Remember that young players
will sign for 3+ years, while older players will tend to sign for just a
year or two.
Now, the number of bids is still not very clear for me. You have a number
of bids every week when on transfer market. The thing is that I still
don't see the difference between giving a simple or a double bid when
making an offer for a team. I really need somebody to help me out with
this, and probably I will have this clear for the next update!
Sell/Loan A Player
Do you have players warming the bench? You should consider selling them!
Whatever the reason is, is always necessary bring new blood to your team,
and in the process is necessary to let go a few players.
You can either loan a player and get him back at the end of the season, or
you can send him to another club for good! The process is pretty much the
same though.
The first thing you have to do is go to the "Club player list" option, and
then you will have your team roster on the screen. Could be a few pages,
so navigate through them with left/right triggers.
Scroll to the player you want to sell/loan, then press A. The screen will
fade a little and a dialog will pop up.
There are just two options there, the status will already be set to "None"
but you can change it to "For Sale" or "For Loan".
Whatever your choise was, the player will have an icon when you return to
the roster. For now there's nothing else you can do. You have to go back
and advance to the next match. If there's an offer for that player you
will be informed when coming back from a match.
If no offer was made for your player you should then wait for the next
transfer window and try again. The status for that player will again be
set to "None", so if you still want to sell/loan that player you need to
set his status to "For Sale" or "For Loan" again.
